Gualtieri è un piccolo gioiello in provincia di Reggio Emilia con una popolazione di circa 6000 abitanti.
Di origini medievali e posizionata vicino al Pò, divenne un luogo fertile grazie alle bonifiche effettuate prima dai Gonzaga e in seguito dai Bentivoglio, padre e figlio. Furono loro che realizzarono il magnifico palazzo a essi intitolato e la piazza di 100 metri per lato dove appaiono anche una bellissima torre con orologio e la Collegiata dedicata alla Madonna della Neve, che avete potuto vedere nel video sopra.
Gualtieri is a small jewel in the province of Reggio Emilia with a population of about 6000 inhabitants.
Of medieval origins and located near the Pò, it became a fertile place thanks to the reclamation carried out first by the Gonzagas and later by the Bentivoglio, father and son. Inglobata nel complesso nella parte nord est della piazza, vi è il teatro che ha una storia tutta particolare. Alla fine del 700, il comune che era già proprietario del Palazzo Bentivoglio, decise di costruirlo, affidando a Gian Battista Fattori l’esecuzione che lo realizzò in stile barocco in legno. Nel 900 si fecero alcuni rifacimenti, poi abbandonato negli anni 70, è stato ripreso e affidato ad una associazione che lo ha praticamente ripulito ma utilizzandolo in maniera piuttosto anomala: il palcoscenico è diventato galleria e la galleria con i palchi sovrastanti, il palco. Per questo viene chiamato il teatro rovesciato, anche se il suo vero nome è Teatro Sociale. Numerosissime le personalità musicali e teatrali hanno calcato il suo palcoscenico, o meglio la sua galleria. Tra di essi è doveroso ricordare Ezio Bosso, che con i suoi spettacoli ha contribuito alla raccolta di fondi per tenerlo attivo. I mura-ttori che lo gestiscono ( così chiamati simpaticamente da una di loro), lo definiscono un cantiere aperto che come una nave, ormeggia in rada per la manutenzione. Assolutamente da non dimenticare che Gualtieri è sede del Museo di Ligabue, il pittore nato in Svizzera ma fu a Gualtieri dove visse e realizzò le sue opere. Il comune di Gualtieri gli ha intitolato un museo che è situato all’Interno del Palazzo Bentivoglio con ben 180 opere e che viene visitato da un numero altissimo di appassionati di questo grande artista con ben 35000 presenze annuali.
